El Paso Police Wives help first responders in Houston area
Posted On: Sep 244, 2017
EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14) —
With several of El Paso’s first responders in the Houston area, they’re also in need of supplies.
The El Paso Police Wives Association is asking for your help.
They’re collecting donations to help local first responders who are in the middle of the relief efforts.
"What can we do to support them?” asked Melissa Bailey, president of the association. "So we started contacting our wives on our Facebook."
She said it’s really important to make sure the officers have what they need.
Thirty-six El Paso police officers volunteered to go down to the Houston area and assist the authorities down there.
"They had an overwhelming demand to go down there and help out,” she said.
Bailey said her group has one priority.
"For us, anything we can do to kind of help that situation and give them some comfort is what we're trying to do,” she said.
They’re asking for water, packaged food, personal-hygiene products and any monetary donations.
