UPCOMING EVENTS

BOWL FOR KID'S SAKE

The EPMPOA is proud to support the 9th Annual Big Brothers-Big Sisters "Bowl for Kid's Sake" fundraiser scheduled for Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Bowl El Paso.

Come bowl, dance, sing, have fun and win prizes!  Teams consist of 5-persons...friends, family, co-workers, etc.

All money raised stays in El Paso and goes directly toward making matches of mentors to children.  Mentors help these children stay in school, avoid drugs, and stay away from gangs and violence.  If you would like to assist or want to participate, contact Stephanie Gavin at 544-4203 or visit their website

1ST ANNUAL EPMPOA BACK TO SCHOOL "SHOP WITH A COP ™"
The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is proud to announce our 1st annual Back to School "Shop with a Cop™" event for the 2008-2009 school year.

The program will unite EPMPOA members with local disadvantaged school children to enable them to put their best foot forward when starting the new school year!

The event will take place on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at 8:00 AM, at the Target store located at 1901 George Dieter Dr.

Each child is eligible to receive new shoes, several outfits of clothing and a backpack full of school supplies.  We are hoping to provide for at least 250 children!  Our goal is to spend $200.00 per child, and hopefully, with your support, we can sponsor more in the coming years.  Children will be selected from the El Paso Independent School District, Socorro Independent School District, and the Ysleta Independent School District.

We also plan on a "Shop with a Cop ™" Christmas event too!  Stay tuned.

The EPMPOA strongly believes that we are making a difference in the lives of our children and families in El Paso and the surrounding area.

Call (915) 351-0249 for more information.  You may also contact Danny Zamora at 479-3899 for additional details.
