The El Paso Police Department held a Promotion Ceremony on Monday, April 15, 2013. The ceremony was held at 10:00 AM in the Chief’s Large Conference Room at Police Headquarters and was packed with family members, friends, co-workers and well-wishers of those promoted. Police Chief Greg Allen conferred the following promotions:
Four former Sergeants and current EPMPOA members were moved up to middle-management and now serve as Lieutenants, they are: former MVRC Sgt. Roberto Ramos #1963 who was promoted and transferred to the WSRC; Tom Pena #1643, promoted to Lieutenant and for now remains at Internal Affairs; Guadalupe Ruiz, a former Sergeant at Planning and Research will now work out of PHRC; and former Sgt. Ricardo Porras #1800 was promoted and transferred from CAC to the Westside Regional Command Center.
Three members are moving up to first-line supervisors, they are former CRCC Officer Sandra Zamudio #2436, who was promoted to Sergeant and is now assigned at the MVRC. She had her new badge pinned on her uniform by EPMPOA President Sgt. Ron Martin; Marcos Galindo #2073, formerly at PHRC, he is now a Sergeant working at the WSRC; and Alejandro Alvarez #1975, the former Detective at CAC, is now supervising at the WSRC.
Chief Allen also promoted three former Officers to the Detective rank. They are Gerardo Rodrigues #2426 of NE Tac, Frederick Gomez #2479 of PHRC and Victor LeGloahec #2568 of the WSRC. The three, for now, will remain at their respective commands.
