Letter to CLEAT Members from David Saucedo
Updated On: Jul 06, 2017

June 7, 2017

CLEAT MEMBERS:

Thank you for your endorsement and thank you for all your help throughout our campaign. We are still in this fight because of your support. Voters respect your endorsement and we are thankful for your trust.

As you know, this upcoming Saturday is Election Day. I need your help one last time with your VOTE. But not just your vote, I need you to encourage your friends and family to vote for me, as well.

As I have mentioned before, El Paso is at a crossroads. We are nearing a $2B budget deficit, our effective tax rate is the highest in Texas and the 3rd highest in the nation, our streets need repair, our median income is low, and the only new jobs created continue to be in retail. This is unacceptable and it is time for a dramatic change.

Most importantly, your department is still at 1990 staffing levels even though our population has significantly increased since then. You are to be commended for keeping our city safe with the lack of resources you have. The time has come for a bold new leader who will address the major problems our city is facing.

When I win, it will be because of all your help!

Thank you,

David Saucedo

P.S. Polls are open 7AM-7PM and you can find out where to vote here: https://epcountyvotes.com/quick_links/where_do_i_vote
