After much consideration and discussion, the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association has made the difficult decision to cancel the Board of Directors meeting scheduled for 1:00 PM this afternoon (March 17, 2020), as well as the General Membership meeting scheduled for 7:00 PM on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
This comes after the World Health Organization characterized COVID-19 as a pandemic and after the City of El Paso issued a local emergency declaration regarding the Novel Coronavirus. In an overabundance of caution, to avoid the possibility of exposure and to avoid any possible widespread transmission of this disease, the EPMPOA is taking this measure to help protect our community. The Board of Directors believe that the health and safety of our members is our highest priority and thus have good cause to cancel the meetings.
We thank you for your understanding and apologize for any inconvenience. Information as to the rescheduling of said meetings will be announced later, or as soon as feasible.
