The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of retired Detective Albert M. Jones #107, who passed away on July 26, 2020, at the age of 92.
(Ret.) Detective Jones served the El Paso community as a peace officer for 24+ years. He was commissioned by the El Paso Police Department on March 27, 1961 and retired on April 2, 1985.
Services for (Ret.) Detective Albert Jones were held on August 3, 2020 in Fredericksburg, Texas. Click here to view an archived recording of his Mass of Resurrection held at St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Locally, at 7:00 AM on Wednesday, September 23, 2020, the El Paso Police Department Honor Guard will raise a U.S. Flag at El Paso Police Headquarters, 911 N. Raynor St., and will fly the U.S. Flag for 24 hours in honor of Retired Detective Albert M. Jones.
On Thursday, September 24, at 7:00 AM, the EPPD Honor Guard will lower the U.S. Flag and will fold it. The flag will then be given to his family. Anyone wishing to attend the raising and/or lowering of the U.S. Flag is invited and welcome to attend.
(Ret.) Detective Albert Jones is survived by his two daughters, Mary Fluckey (husband Bruce) and Carolyn Young (husband John), six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-granchildren, plus numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife Vivienne and son Alan M. Jones.
