El Paso man told police he wanted to die before being shot to death by law enforcement
Updated On: Feb 33, 2021
Jean P. Stanley called the El Paso Police Department on a recent Friday morning, saying he intended to cause a mass shooting and that he wanted to die by suicide, according to a state custodial death record.
Stanley, 27, told police he was intoxicated and firing a gun near Interstate 10 and along Thunderstorm Drive on Jan. 15. In response to the call, police deemed his case a “suicide-related call,” because of the nature of his threats.
