El Paso Police Department extends training period for incoming classes
Posted On: Mar 89, 2021
The El Paso Police Department is changing the requirements needed to become an officer.
Incoming classes must go through extensive training before joining the force. Included in the changes is the amount of time required to graduate.
Before, a class would train for 8 and a half months, but now, future officers will spend 10 months and one week in the training academy, making it one of the longest programs in the state of Texas.
