The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Sergeant Apolonio "Polo" Esparza #131, who passed away on April 23, 2022 at the age of 89. (Ret.) Sergeant Esparza served with the El Paso Police Department for 22+ years, from November 1956 until his retirement on February 6, 1979. Prior to joining the EPPD, Mr. Esparza served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
Funeral Services for (Ret.) Sergeant Apolonio Esparza are as follows:
Monday, May 9, 2022:
-Visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr.
-Rosary at 6:00 PM
Tuesday, May 10, 2022:
-Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Rd.
-Interment Service following the funeral Mass at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.
Retired Sergeant Apolonio "Polo" Esparza will receive Retired Police Honors.
