    El Paso Police Academy reduces from 11 months to 8.5; promises to maintain high standards
    The El Paso Police Department’s 11-month training academy has been known as one of the longest programs in the country. But beginning in May, that will all change. Beginning with the May academy class, the time spent in the training program will be condensed from 11 months to 8 1/2, helping get officers to answer the call for help sooner as the city of El Paso continues to grow.

    El Paso Police rename HQ after late Chief Greg Allen
    The El Paso Police Department, along with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association, renamed police headquarters at 911 N. Raynor on Sunday morning, March 3 in honor of longtime Police Chief Greg Allen who died unexpectedly last year. Allen, who led the department for nearly 15 years, died on Jan. 17, 2023 at the age of 71. March 3 would have been his 73nd birthday. KTSM.
