Senator Jose Rodriquez Honored in El Paso, Pledges Continued Support for Officer Retirements

Senator Jose Rodriquez was presented with a special award honoring his service to Texas law enforcement officers at a media event held at his state office in downtown El Paso. Ron Martin, President of the El Paso Municipal Police Officers Association and Jose Marrufo, President of the El Paso County Sheriff’s Officers Association joined with CLEAT in the presentation. Senator Rodriquez is a longtime supporter of law enforcement issues since his days as County Attorney in El Paso.
Senator Rodriquez was presented with the recognition for his overall support of issues affecting rank and file officers during the 2011 legislative session. During his remarks Senator Rodriquez promised his continued support for decent retirement plans for law enforcement officers and their families.
“CLEAT needs strong supporters like Senator Rodriquez for us to be able to protect law enforcement issues in the upcoming legislative session next year,” said Charley Wilkison, Director of Public Affairs.
