Dear EPMPOA members,
Are you all out there? We are looking at getting your opinions on what you feel about the current website. Since we started with the website, Otto and Randy have tried to keep members up to date with the information coming out. Running a website is tricky since the information coming out must be fresh and ever changing. So, additions had to be made on information coming out of El Paso, Texas and throughout the entire country.
Several members have brought to our attention several items they wish to see in the future. So I am asking you as members for your feedback. What they have suggested is listed below:
1. Bring back the Silver Badge: I am all for it. Several agencies do have both. However, their members have purchased the required software and they also have a team of officers that actually work on it. They use their own time to create it. Remember, The news articles will not change for a month unless the officers working on it change it. If there are several officers out there with the experience and/or knowledge to take on the Silver Badge, let us know.
2. The website advertises too much: I looked at the Silver Badge. There were always businesses that advertised with us. They paid for an entire month. It was not until the next issue came out that the advertisements would change. The monies coming in would go to future allotments for officer scholarships, etc? Well with the website, we have unlimited space for advertisements. We are not limited. We could create additional scholarships and/or allotments for existing scholarships for officers.
3. Online Novelty Store: We heard you would like to see it. Well it is coming soon! The EPMPOA is currenlty working on this. Family, friends, and retired officers can order EPMPOA novelities anywhere in the country. We will ship it to you.
4. Online Voting: With online voting, you have access to cast your vote on important topics affecting your association reardless of where you are in the country. You dont have to cast a paper vote and sign in. You can use your computer or smart phone to cast your votes now. The only thing preventing you from casting a vote is you. Refusing to jump on board with online voting is your choice. Its here to stay.
5. Officers are just never satisfied: Several officers have complained about the switch to the website. They have expressed their wishes to bring it back. These are the same officers that were asked if they read the Silver Badge and advised they did not. I have no response to this. Either you get involved with the EPMPOA or your dont. That is entirely up to you.
6. Express your Opinions. What do you really want to see???:
