Greetings, I hope everyone is in good health and spirits. I told those of you who attended the General Membership meeting last month (March) and the month before that (February) and the month before that (January)…that I would inform you on whom C.O.P.S. (Coalition of Public Safety) would be endorsing for the upcoming City elections.
The invitation to be interviewed was extended to those candidates running for a seat on City Council and the Mayors’ position. Most candidates responded while others chose not to. In concluding the discussion process, the following selections to endorse were made:
Mayor: Oscar Leeser
City Council Representative - District 2: Getsemani Yanez.
City Council Representative - District 3: Emma Acosta (unopposed incumbent)
City Council Representative - District 4: Carl Robinson (incumbent)
City Council Representative - District 7: Lilia (Lily) Limon
A “DEFINITE NO” to the City Charter Amendment changes. Any changes made will lead to a form of modern day slavery for the City employee. Keep yourself informed on the elections and the candidates as the election season moves along. Most importantly, “GET OUT AND VOTE.”
**Early voting starts Monday, April 29, 2013 and runs through Tuesday, May 7, 2013. The General Election will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013.
