2013 Summit for Heroes
May 29, 2013

This invitation goes out to all supporters of law enforcement.  The organizer for the State of Texas, Sgt. Mike Hoyt, is requesting a list of supporters who are interested in attending. The names will then be added to the Cops on Top website.

We are just a month away from the event. The t-shirts are being printed and will cost somewhere around $8-$10.  Please let me know if you are interested in purchasing a shirt along with the size so I can place the order.

Here is a short outline of the actual hike:

The highest point in Texas is Guadalupe Peak, just West of Carlsbad, NM.  The hike is a total of 8.5 miles, elevation difference is 3019’, summit is at 8749’.  It takes anywhere from 2.5 hours  to 4 hours, depending on your fitness level. The first mile or so is a bit strenuous, stadium stairs like, then it eases off but gets harder again toward the top.

We will start at 6 am on June 29, but you can go at any time you like, at your own pace. Please make time to support this event.

I’ll see you all there.
