A former El Paso police officer was convicted Thursday afternoon of raping a woman nearly two years ago that he first met while on duty.

The jury deliberated for just over four hours before delivering the guilty verdict against William Alexander.

Alexander was arrested and charged with the sexual assault in May 2018.
