Mar 17, 2020

A man faces additional charges after he was shot and wounded by an El Paso police officer in a confrontation last week in the Riverside area, police officials said Monday.

Alexander Scott Maestas allegedly took out a handgun and was shot by a patrol officer who had stopped to check him after a call about a man with a gun near Riverside High School on March 11.

Maestas, 22, was treated at Del Sol Medical Center before being booked into the El Paso County Jail Annex on Thursday.
