The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Officer Robert L. Portugal #270, who passed away on July 30, 2021 at the age of 72. (Ret.) Officer Portugal served with the El Paso Police Department for 27+ years, from March 1971 until his retirement on April 2, 1998. 

Funeral Services for (Ret.) Officer Robert L. Portugal are as follows:

Tuesday, August 10, 2021:

-Visitation from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM at Mt. Carmel Funeral Home, 1755 N. Zaragoza Rd.

-Rosary at 11:00 AM

-Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 2301 Zanzibar Dr.

After the Funeral Mass, Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery-East, 12400 Montana Ave. 

Retired Officer Robert L. Portugal will receive Retired Police Honors.
