FBI director says violence against LEOs ‘doesn’t get enough attention’
Apr 27, 2022

In a “60 Minutes” interview on Sunday, FBI Director Christopher Wray discussed the uptick in violence against police officers.

“Violence against law enforcement in this country is one of the biggest phenomena that I think doesn’t get enough attention,” Wray said in the CBS interview. Wray also added that in 2021, “officers were being killed at a rate of almost one every five days.”

According to Wray, 73 officers were murdered in 2021 – a 59% increase from the previous year. Wray said many of the slain officers were ambushed or killed while on patrol.
