Firearm training shapes future El Paso police officers: Another recruit drops out as others persevere

This week on ‘Becoming the Badge’ training at the El Paso Police Academy begins to be more hands-on as they learn how to safely handle and fire one of the most important tools around their belt, which is a gun.

“We’re not just shooting paper out here, we’re preparing for a possible dangerous encounter,” EPPD Detective John Armendariz said.
