The El Paso Municipal Police Officer's Association encourages its members to help support the Down Syndrome Coalition for El Paso by participating in the 2019 DSCEP Buddy Walk & 5K Fun Run.   The events will take place on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the El Paso Community College Valle Verde Campus.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association extends its deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, colleagues and friends of El Paso County Sheriff’s Office Detention Officer Joseph E. Gomez #8100.  Detention Officer Gomez died on Sunday, September 22, 2019, as a result of injuries he sustained after his vehicle was struck by a suspected drunk driver.

The El Paso County Sheriff's Officers Association will be hosting a cookout fundraiser to benefit the family of Fallen Detention Officer Joseph Gomez. The cookout will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2019, from 11:30 AM to 5:30 PM, at the El Paso County Sheriff's Office Headquarters, 3850 Justice.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is sponsoring a "Wing Drive" lunch to benefit the family of Retired Lieutenant Kyle L. Summers #1296, who passed away on September 9, 2019.  This event is to raise money to assist the family with medical expenses related to Kyle's illness and other unplanned expenses.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association invites members and their families to attend the graduation ceremony for the El Paso Police Department’s 125th Police Academy Class.  The event will take place on Monday, September 9, 2019 at 9:00 AM at the Bowie High School Auditorium, 801 S. San Marcial St.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association held elections earlier this month (August 4-10, 2019) for the office of President (Executive Board - Class I Director) and for Region III/Pebble Hills Regional Command Center Representatives (Executive Board - Class II Directors).   The elections, conducted via online electronic voting at www.epmpoa.

The man suspected of killing 20 people and injuring 26 others in El Paso on Saturday is being charged with capital murder by the state of Texas and El Paso's district attorney Jaime Esparza vowed Sunday morning: "We will seek the death penalty.

The law enforcement and El Paso communities came together Friday to help an injured brother in blue.  A long line of people gathered at the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center for a fundraiser benefiting Officer Patrick Martinez. "I'm out of work right now, I'm not getting a full paycheck," Martinez said.
