     I want to start this article by spotlighting the charitable efforts by one of our own.  Some of you may not be aware but Detective Vanessa Acosta has found a tremendous calling.  She has created a non- profit organization to help save dogs and cats which have been abandoned, abused, neglected, or in line to be put down.  Law N’ Paws was created by Vanessa.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association will host the Annual Member Picnic at Wet-N-Wild Waterworld on Saturday July 22, 2017, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM   • There will be free beer and sodas and some grills will be available for free (while supplies last) • The park will open at 1100 Hrs.

Save your lunch plans for Friday!  The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association encourages members to participate in a Spaghetti Lunch fundraiser being sponsored by the El Paso Police Wives Association to benefit MVRC Officer Gomez and his family.   The spaghetti lunch will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Angel D.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association asks that you please keep Officer R. Licon and the entire Licon family, and all others affected by the tragic loss of baby Azrael E. Licon, in your thoughts and prayers. A GoFundMe account has been established for those who wish to assist Officer Licon's family with the funeral related expenses.  Thank you.

  Officers of the great Mission Valley Regional Command, as most of you know, our EPMPOA Valley Representative transferred from the Valley Station.  Officer Joe Olvera transferred to the Pebble Hills Regional Command and vacated the position.

The 4th Annual EPMPOA Fallen Officers Memorial Run, this year sponsored by Tropical Smoothie Cafe, will take place on Saturday, May 20, 2017.  There will be a 1 Mile walk, a 5K run and a 10K run. Greetings! What a couple of months we've had on the PAC committee!  This election cycle has kept us very busy with interviews and vetting candidates for the upcoming May Uniform Election.  The PAC Committee, in conjunction with the Coalition of Public Safety, held interviews on Friday March 3rd and Friday March 10th with several candidates seeking our endorsement.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association will host the inaugural Fallen Officers Memorial Car Show on Saturday, April 1, 2017.  The event will be held at Hooters Restaurant, 1170 Sunmount Dr. near Cielo Vista Mall.  Registration and set up begins at 8:30 AM and the car show and judging will start at 10:00 AM.
