We now have a generation of police officers who were CLEAT members from the day they started working as a police officer until the day they retired. They always enjoyed the protection of the CLEAT Legal Plan and at the request of Retired Officers who wanted CLEAT Legal Protection once they retired, CLEAT created the CLEAT Retiree Association (CRA).

The El Paso Police Department has added thirty-one (31) officers to their ranks after the graduation of the 120th academy class on Monday, November 28, 2016.  The rookie officers graduated in a ceremony held at UTEP’s Magoffin Auditorium.  The new officers will be assigned to patrol duties at the various Police Regional Command Centers.

The El Paso Police Department is accepting applications for the position of police trainee.  The deadline to submit applications is November 29, 2016 and must be submitted online at the below listed link.  Applicants are encouraged to apply immediately as the position will close once the preset number of qualified applications are received.  https://www.governmentjobs.

The open enrollment period for Insurance Benefits continues through November 18, 2016.  This is ONLY is you need to make any changes to your current benefits.  Possible changes would include adding new dependents to your health benefits or making changes to your ancillary benefits such as dental and/or vision coverage, or making a change to your life insurance beneficiary designation.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association will hold its annual Installation and Service Awards Party and Dance on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at the Memorial Hall, 3601 Rutherglen St.  The evening will start at 6:30 PM with a social gathering featuring cocktails and finger foods.

A spaghetti plate fundraiser to benefit Officer Jesus "Chuy" Rodriguez will be held on Saturday, August 27, 2016, from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.  The event will be held at VFW Post #812, 2400 Davis Seamon Rd. (near McKelligon Canyon). Officer Rodriguez is an honorary member at the 82nd Airborne Benavides Patterson Chapter (2608 Fort Blvd.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association held an election last week for the office of First Vice President (Executive Board - Class I Director).   The election for 1st VP, conducted via online electronic voting at www.epmpoa.org, was the only election needed during the even-years election cycle.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is gearing up for the 2016 "Battle of the Badges" Law Enforcement Blood Drive Competition and we need your help!  The "Battle of the Badges" is a way to increase summer blood donations by creating a competition between departments who share in the commitment to help the community.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association urges members and their families to attend the Northeast Regional Command Center's Community Fair, which will be held on Saturday, August 20, 2016, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, at Cohen Stadium, 9700 Gateway North Blvd.   The community fair is free and open to the public.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is sponsoring a "Wing Drive" lunch to benefit Officer Luis Jurado, who is assisting his Mother with her care and medical expenses.  The wing drive will take place on Friday, July 29, 2016 starting at 11:00 AM, at the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center Conference Room.
