The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association extends its deepest condolences to the families, colleagues and friends of the Dallas Police Department and Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department police officers who were ambushed and killed on Thursday evening. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of each officer and the entire Dallas Police and entire Dallas Rapid Transit Police Departments.
Tuesday, May 27, 2014, is Election Day for the Democratic and Republican primary runoffs. The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association encourages its members and their family members to go out and vote today, if you did not vote during the early voting period last week. Polls opened at 7:00 AM and will close at 7:00 PM tonight.

Loma Verde Elementary is having its annual run to support their students’ fitness equipment on May 25, 2014 (Sunday, day after Molina and Angel’s run). The run will begin at Loma Verde Elementary and will start at 8am.
The City of El Paso held a press conference on Monday afternoon to announce that they have authorized Affion, Inc., the search firm hired to solicit candidates for the City Manager position in El Paso, to enter into negotiations with top finalist Tommy Gonzalez.
Mr. Gonzalez, age 47, is currently Vice President of Sterling Construction Company, Inc.

The Texas Peace Officers’ Memorial Foundation held its annual “Ride for the Fallen” on Saturday, May 3, 2014. With nearly 450 motorcycles participating in this year's event, it was the largest turnout in the event’s 13-year history.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of retired Detective Maurice Leon “Bill” Murray. (Ret.) Detective Murray passed away on May 5th at the age of 91. He served the community first as a dispatcher and then as an El Paso Police Department officer, retiring as a Detective.
