The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Officer Raul Pineda Sr., #2767, who passed away on June 5, 2022 at the age of 56 after losing a valiant battle against cancer. Officer Pineda served with the El Paso Police Department for almost 14 years, from July 2, 2008, until his untimely death.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association encourages its members to participate in a blood drive being held by Vitalant at the Police Academy, 2300 Scenic Drive, on Friday, June 3, 2022, from Noon to 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The blood drive will take place in Vitalant's Blood Mobiles. Donors will receive a free T-shirt and squeeze cow.

Canine "Nero" served the El Paso community as a police dog for 9+ years. He was commissioned by the El Paso Police Department on June 6, 2011 and retired on October 26, 2020.
