News From the 83rd Legislative Session  By Charlie Wilkison - Director of Public Affairs for CLEAT If you look at a map of the U.S. you can point to almost every large state and to a sad story of how the police lost some major right or benefit over the past five years. Not in Texas, not in 2013. Every legislative session has its own special aura.

  This invitation goes out to all supporters of law enforcement.  The organizer for the State of Texas, Sgt. Mike Hoyt, is requesting a list of supporters who are interested in attending. The names will then be added to the Cops on Top website.  We are just a month away from the event. The t-shirts are being printed and will cost somewhere around $8-$10.

The board of directors of the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association recently approved donating the use of the EPMPOA Memorial Hall for a very worthy cause – the Burges High School Spring Fling.  The donation request, received through member Sgt.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association and the El Paso Police Department will hold the Annual Fallen Officers Memorial Ceremony at 9:00 AM on Friday, May 24, 2013, at Chuck Heinrich Park, located at 11055 Andrew Barcena Dr.  The park and the street on which it is located are both named in honor of fallen El Paso Police Officers.

Baseball at Cohen Stadium is back!  The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is proud to once again partner with the El Paso Diablos to offer EPMPOA members a great evening of baseball!  At Thursday night's (05/16/13) General Membership meeting, your Association will be giving away almost 1,000 tickets free to members.
