- Ten (10) members had resigned
- twelve (12) members had retired
- two (2) members have been terminated.
- The total number of member departures so far for calendar year 2012 is twenty-four (24).
**Current overall membership stands at approximately 1045 members.

The El Paso Police Department is looking at hiring retired police officers to transport prisoners. The city has hired a civilan contractor G4S to faciliate this work.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is gearing up for the 2012 "Battle of the Badges" Law Enforcement Blood Drive Competition and we need your help!
The "Battle of the Badges" is a way to increase summer blood donations by creating a competition between departments who share in the commitment to help the community.
COPS on TOP 2012
Several officers of the Department had the honor of taking part in the annual COPS on Top Summit for Heroes climb on Saturday where LE Officers and civilians climb to the highest point in their states in memorial of those law enforcement officers that paid the ultimate sacrifice by giving their lives.
