ELECTIONS 2012 The election season is just about upon us, with the Primary Election scheduled for May 29, 2012.  I hope that you are registered to vote, and more importantly, that you will do your civic duty and go to the polls along with your family members to cast your votes!  The early voting period is from May 14 – 25.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association joins the entire law enforcement community in the area in offering condolences to the family, relatives, friends, and co-workers of Texas Department of Public Safety Trooper Javier Arana Jr.  Trooper Arana died in the line of duty early Saturday morning while responding to assist with a pursuit call in far east El Paso.

The El Paso Police Department held a promotional ceremony on Monday, March 19, 2012 in the Chief’s Large Conference Room at Police Headquarters.  The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association congratulates the two members who were promoted to Sergeant that day, Jens Rathmann #2389 and Jeffrey “JD” Cotham #1903.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is sad to announce the passing of a former member.  Retired Officer Juan Ramos #1452 passed away on Wednesday, February 22, 2012.  A life-long El Pasoan, Officer Ramos honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corp and then joined the El Paso Police Department.

PROMOTIONAL CEREMONY The El Paso Police Department held a promotional ceremony on President’s Day, Monday, February 20, 2012, in the Chief’s Large Conference Room at Police Headquarters.  Even though the day is a holiday for many, it was just another day at the office for El Paso’s Finest.
