The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Sergeant Walter L. Lavender, who passed away on October 29, 2021 at the age of 61. (Ret.) Sergeant Lavender served with the El Paso Police Department for 20+ years, from March 1988 until his retirement on October 6, 2008.

On December 16, 2012, El Paso Police Officer Angel David Garcia #2866 died serving his beloved community. He was hit by a car while removing debris from Interstate 10. A dedicated public servant, Officer Garcia was an active member of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserves and a graduate of Clint High School and El Paso Community College.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is sponsoring a fundraising cookout (burgers & hotdogs, chips, nachos and drinks) to benefit Officers Brianna Lopez #3328 and Janette Donohue #3113.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is requesting your assistance for a retired "Brother in Blue" and his family.  A few years ago the son of (Ret.) Sergeant Franky Gutierrez #1379 was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. This disease has had a great impact on his life as he has seen numerous doctors and been through multiple treatments.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association will hold its annual Installation and Service Awards Banquet and Dance on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at the Memorial Hall, 3601 Rutherglen St.  The evening will start at 6:00 PM with a social gathering.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association encourages all members to attend the El Paso Police Department's Promotion Ceremony at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 18, 2021.  The ceremony will take place in the large conference room at El Paso Police Headquarters, 911 N. Raynor St.

The 8th Annual EPMPOA Fallen Officers Memorial Run will take place on Sunday, October 10, 2021, starting at 7:00 AM.  This year's race will start and end at the Memorial Hall, 3601 Rutherglen St.      There will be a 5K Competitive Run or a 1 Mile fun Walk/Run, whichever event you wish to partcipate in.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association encourages its members to participate in a blood drive being held by Vitalant at Police Headquarters, the Westside Regional Command Center on Thursday, September 30, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The blood drive will take place in Vitalant's Blood Mobile.

The blood drive will take place in Vitalant's Blood Mobile. Donors will save up to three (3) lives, receive a free Whataburger coupon and a free T-shirt.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association is sponsoring a "Wing Drive & More" lunch to benefit the family of Lieutenant Jonathan Terrazas, who passed away on September 1, 2021. This event is to raise money to assist his family in their time of loss.
