Officials with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office confirmed to CBS4 that the driver who died in a east El Paso crash on Sunday was a detention officer with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office.
Officials with the El Paso Police Department said Joseph Gomez, 30, was driving through the intersection of Red Sails and Pebble Hills when another driver, Erick Angel Ortiz, 25, drove through a red light and T-boned Gomez's vehicle.
