The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Sergeant Walter L. Lavender, who passed away on October 29, 2021 at the age of 61. (Ret.) Sergeant Lavender served with the El Paso Police Department for 20+ years, from March 1988 until his retirement on October 6, 2008.   

Funeral Services for (Ret.) Sergeant Walter L. Lavender #1052 are as follows:

Sunday, November 7, 2021:

-Visitation from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Hillcrest Funeral Home, 1060 N. Carolina Dr.

-Rosary at 7:00 PM

Monday, November 8, 2021:

-Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1700 George Dieter Dr.

-Interment Service following the funeral Mass at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S. Zaragoza Rd.

Retired Sergeant Walter L. Lavender will receive Retired Police Honors.
