The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Lieutenant Yves J. Fortin #146, who passed away on December 29, 2022, at the age of 90. (Ret.) Lieutenant Fortin served with the El Paso Police Department for 26 years, from October 1960, until his retirement on September 10, 1986. He then went on to become the Chief of Police for the El Paso Independent School District Police, from where he retired in 1997. Prior to joining the El Paso Police Department, (Ret.) Lieutenant Fortin served in the U.S. Air Force.

Thursday, January 12, 2023:

-Visitation from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Sunset Funeral Home - Americas, 9521 North Loop Dr.

Friday, January 13, 2023:

-Internment at 10:00 AM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.

Retired Lieutenant Yves J. Fortin will receive Retired Police Honors.
