TxDOT kicks off Click It or Ticket Campaign, to raise awareness about seat-belt safety
May 07, 2019

The Texas Department of Transportation is launching their annual Click It or Ticket Campaign on Wednesday, May 8, to reduce the number of drivers and passengers who are killed or seriously injured because they’re not buckled up.

According to TxDOT, wearing a seat belt reduces the risk of dying in a crash by 45% in a passenger vehicle, and up to 60% in a pickup truck.

This hits close to home for one El Paso Highway Patrol Trooper who’s seen a handful of accidents.
