The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association encourages its members to participate in a blood drive being held by Vitalant at Police Headquarters on Monday, March 18, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The blood drive will take place at Police Headquarters in the Chief's Large Conference Room.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association invites members and their families and the general public to attend the graduation ceremony for the El Paso Police Department’s 133rd Police Academy Class. The event will take place on Friday, March 15, 2024, at 9:00 AM at the Canutillo High School Auditorium, 6675 S. Desert Blvd.

El Paso Police officers and members of the El Paso Municipal Police Officer's Association gathered Sunday morning to honor longtime Police Chief Greg Allen.
"It just warms my heart that he has a police station named after him," his widow Rosanne Allen said. "It's beautiful, and all the friends and blue family that showed up is just wonderful.

The El Paso Police Department, along with the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association, renamed police headquarters at 911 N. Raynor on Sunday morning, March 3 in honor of longtime Police Chief Greg Allen who died unexpectedly last year.
Allen, who led the department for nearly 15 years, died on Jan. 17, 2023 at the age of 71.
March 3 would have been his 73nd birthday.

A Las Cruces Police Department patrol officer was killed, and the suspected attacker was shot to death by a citizen bystander.
Officer Jonah Hernandez, 35, died from a stab wound while responding to a trespassing call on Feb. 11. Hernandez, who is from El Paso and has been with LCPD for two years, leaves behind a wife and two sons, ages 10 and 2.
