The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association selected four high school seniors to receive this year's scholarships from the EPMPOA Ben Ayala Scholarship Fund.
The scholarships are awarded to graduating high school seniors who are the sons or daughters of EPMPOA members. Scholarships are awarded annualy during the month of May at the general membership meeting. The scholarship program was established as a memorial to Ben Ayala a former EPMPOA member and retired El Paso Police Department detective.
The EPMPOA hosts an annual golf tournament to raise funds to benefit the scholarship fund and is looking to hold additional fundraisers to be able to award even more scholarships to benefit members’ children. Donations are always accepted and can be sent to the Ben Ayala Scholarship Fund in care of the El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association, 747 E. San Antonio Ave., El Paso, TX 79901.
