The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Officer Ramiro Gonzalez Jr., #657, who passed away on November 4, 2019 at the age of 66.  (Ret.) Officer Gonzalez served with the El Paso Police Department for 27+ years, from April 1978 until his retirement in December 2005.

Retired Officer Ramiro “Rami” Gonzalez Jr., #657 is entitled to Retired Police Honors, however, we are respecting his wishes that a funeral service not be held after his passing.

Instead, the EPPD Honor Guard will raise a United States Flag at Police Headquarters (911 N. Raynor St.) on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at 11:00 AM, and will fly the United States Flag for 24 hours in Honor of Retired Officer Gonzalez.

The EPPD Honor Guard will lower the United States Flag on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM and will then fold the United States Flag.  The folded United States Flag will be given to the family of Retired Officer Ramiro Gonzalez Jr. following the lowering and folding of the flag.

Anyone wishing to attend the raising and/or lowering of the United States Flag is his memory is invited to attend.

The El Paso Municipal Police Officers' Association offers our most sincere condolences and asks that you please keep the entire Gonzalez Family in your thoughts and prayers.
