The "even-year" election cycle consists of the following Executive Board - Class I Officer and Class II Director positions: First Vice President; Secretary, Treasurer; and two positions at Region II (MVRC); two positions at Region IV (NERC); and three positions at Region VI (Headquarters). This year, due to COVID-19, the EPMPOA was unable to accept nominations from the floor at the June General Membership meeting because those meetings have been canceled since March as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Instead, over a two-week period, the EPMPOA opened up nominations via email. After all nominations were received, the nominees were contacted to determine if they Accepted or Declined. After that process was completed, the only contested position was that of Treasurer. The persons nominated for the other positions were either unopposed or had the nominal number of candidates, negating the need for an election.
The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association is holding an election for EPMPOA Treasurer the week of October 4-10, 2020. The candidates for this Executive Board - Class I Director position are:
-Carolina Aldaba; and
-Steven Jaso
Early voting began at 0001 hrs. on Sunday, October 4, 2020 and continues through Midnight on Friday, October 9, 2020. Eligible members may vote anytime during this open voting period. Election Day is officially on Saturday, October 10, 2020. You can wait until this day to vote if you like, but you do not have to (voting ends just before Midnight).
Voting for this election is only by electronic ballot (online voting) at www.epmpoa.org or on the EPMPOA App. You must be a registered member to have access to vote. During this voting period you can find ONLINE VOTING, under MEMBER RESOURCES, on the left side column on the website.Once there, cast your vote for Treasurer.
Do not re-register if you already have an account. If you cannot remember your login credentials (username / password), click on "Forgot your login" to have your password reset.
If you are a member and have not yet registered, please take a few minutes of your time, to register so that you can become a user and be able to vote in this election. You will also have access to the various features and pages, and other information posted on the website and App.
Go online to www.epmpoa.org. Register as a new member by going to Member Home (under Member Resources) and then to the New User Registration form. Complete the form with the requested information. You can then preview the information to be sure it is accurate and complete, and then submit. You are not allowed to use your city (work) e-mail address, so please use a personal one.
Your vote matters! Please take a few minutes during this voting period (week of October 4-10, 2020) to vote for the candidate whom you feel will best represent you and the entire membership as Treasurer for the next 2-years.
