The El Paso Municipal Police Officers’ Association sadly announces the passing of Retired Detective Alfonso "Al" Marquez #314, who passed away on September 13, 2023, at the age of 74. Retired Detective Marquez served with the El Paso Police Department for 25+ years, from January 1972 until his retirement on February 14, 1997. After retiring from the department, retired Detective Marquez went on to serve as a Bailiff.

Funeral services for Retired Detective Alfonso Marquez are as follows:

Wednesday, September 20, 2023:

-Visitation/Viewing from 5:00 to 9:00 PM at Funeraria Del Angel-Central, 3839 Montana Ave.

-Rosary at 7:00 PM

Thursday, September 21, 2023:

-Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 1:00 PM at St. Patrick Cathedral, 1118 North Mesa Street.

-Interment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Blvd.

-Graveside service and Interment at 2:30 PM at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery, 5200 Fred Wilson Ave.

Retired Detective Alfonso "Al" Marquez will receive US Army Military Honors and will also receive Retired Police Honors.
